Run on rolling to steep country, the herd has experienced a range of seasonal conditions. While last season\'s exceptionally wet conditions affected results, the herd has a proven history of strong fertility and performance over many years.
Traditionally calving from late April through to the end of July, the herd will be mated later this season to target a mid-July calving start date. This adjustment is expected to result in a greater proportion of cows cycling at the commencement of mating, increasing the opportunity to secure more cows in-calf to the six-week AB programme and generate additional replacement numbers for the following season.
The herd recorded an excellent 3% empty rate in the 2024/25 season, demonstrating the strong fertility base established over many years.
The replacement young stock are also available for purchase. Having been born between April and June, these animals will be older and more mature than many comparable offerings by the 1st May 2027 delivery date, offering purchasers well-grown replacements with additional age and development.
The herd has recently undergone BVD and Johne\'s disease testing.
